Making Florida Live Local housing accessible to all.

Florida built more income-restricted units in the last two years than at any point in the state's history, but most renters never learn they exist. Afford Florida is a statewide search and pre-screening platform built to fix that.

Why We Built This

We index every property that has applied or been approved under the Florida Housing Finance Corporation's 2026 program, score eligibility live using the official 2026 income and rent-limit tables, and route renter inquiries to leasing offices in plain English.

Program housing has always been findable by professionals and nearly invisible to the renters it was built for. Listings hide behind agency PDFs, program names change from building to building, and every property asks for paperwork before telling you the rent. We built Afford Florida so a renter can answer two questions, household size and income, and immediately see every building in the state they may qualify for.

Meet the Co-Founders

Afford Florida was co-founded by brothers Alex and Max Majzner with a simple goal: to make it easier for people to find quality, income-restricted housing across Florida.

They saw that while thousands of affordable and workforce housing opportunities exist throughout the state, finding them, and understanding who qualifies, can be surprisingly difficult. Information is often scattered across individual property websites, government resources, and complicated eligibility guidelines.

Alex and Max helped create Afford Florida as a simpler solution: one place where renters can discover participating communities, explore available housing options, and connect directly with properties.

Their goal is to make the search for an affordable place to live simpler, clearer, and more accessible for Florida families.

Our Data Methodology

Every number on this site traces to a primary source, and we refresh the data continuously:

  • Income and rent limits come from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation 2026 limit schedule (effective 5/1/2026), for all 67 counties.
  • The property inventory comes from the 2026 MMM Applicant Units Report and Live Local Act submissions.
  • Advertised rents, floor plans, photos, and amenities are collected from each property's own website, never estimated or invented.
  • Properties are shown only when we have verified, geocoded street addresses, so the map and the list always agree.
  • Prices above a county's published program rent caps are treated as market-rate units and excluded from Live Local pricing.

Transparency

Afford Florida is committed to providing broad and fair access to housing information. The manager of Afford Florida LLC is also involved in real estate development in Florida, and affiliated properties may be included on the platform. Affiliated properties are subject to the same listing and presentation standards as other participating properties. Learn more in our Terms of Use.
